Dear Parents,

Just a quick note to invite you the May Crowning on Monday, May 5, 2007 beginning at 9:00 A.M. in the church. If weather permits we will crown our Blessed Mother outside on the lawn area. Second graders will lead our procession and are asked to come to school in their First Holy Communion clothes. All parents and friends are invited to attend.

In addition to crowning our Blessed Mother, we will bless our new Statue of St. Joseph, which was donated by Mr. Anthony Battalio, a generous benefactor and friend of Holy Name of Mary School. Subsequent to his donation, Mr. Battalio has passed into eternal life. The statue will be blessed and dedicated in his memory. Finally, the statue of St. Joseph stands in the main hallway of our school in an alcove opposite our Blessed Mother.

I have attached the May calendar and as you can see there are many activities. Remember that our school building is always in use and at times changes must be made to accommodate groups that frequent our building. We have done the best we can to organize and communicate to you. Please refer to our website for daily changes on the calendar. Activities this month include: The May Crowning, NYS Testing Gr 4 & Gr 8 Science, Talent Show, Grade 8 Class Day, Field Day, Spring Dance, Parent Club Workshop on Smart Discipline (don’t miss it), Mad Science, Gr 8 Trip to Gettysburg, the Memorial Day Parade, Parent Club end of the year dinner, Fine Arts Exhibit and End of the Year Dance. Only seven more weeks of school but who’s counting!!!

Finally, congratulations, this is your last tuition payment. Thank you to all of the families who have made timely payments. It makes the operation of the school much more manageable. I wish that I could throw you a party but I cannot. Thanks for all of your sacrifices and thanks for sending your child(ren) to HNM School. It is they who make it such as special place.
